For those of you who want to unroot/unbrick your Nexus 7 completely back to factory, here’s a full step-by-step video tutorial on how to do it. You can use Windows, Linux, or Mac to do this.
Commands Used in the Video:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper-3.34.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-nakasi-jro03d.zip
fastboot oem lock
Now, if you happen to end up in a bootloop, you can try unlocking and re-locking your bootloader for fix:
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot oem lock
For Mac, replace all “fastboot” with “sudo ./fastboot-mac”.
For Mac, replace all “fastboot” with “sudo ./fastboot-linux”.
Make sure you replace “bootloader-grouper-3.34.img” with the file ending in “.img” for your Nexus 7 and also replace “image-nakasi-jro03d.zip” with the file ending in “.zip”. This will depend on the Android version of the factory firmware you downloaded.

when i got to the fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper-3.34.img because i am on a mac so i typed sudo ./fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper-3.34.img
then when i typed that it says that i have to enter a password and when i try to enter my password it would let me type anything what do i do?
For mac users you don’t have to type “sudo ./fastboot”. You can just type “./fastboot-mac” (without the quotes that is) for all the Terminal commands.
when i type fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper-3.34.img
the result is
sending bootloader
okey
writing bootloader
failed <remote:
i try to reboot on recovery from my android and it froze
so i turn it off and on again
re did the process and same thing happen.
anyway, my nexus 7 at the moment on bootloop condition (before i try yours).
is this affecting the error?
what can i do to make my nexus 7 at the factory state again?
thanks

With your help I was able to get my sweet Nexus 7 to warranty claim just on the last day of its warranty!!! The whole LCD had gone mad, and half of it wouldn’t respond at all to my touch.
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper-3.34.img
the result is
waiting for device
it wont let me download the drivers to start unrooting it please help me
I’m using ubuntu and it all works fine, until I get to this point,
“sudo ./fastboot-linux -w update image-nakasi-ktu84p.zip”
The terminal returns with,
“sudo: ./fastboot-linux: command not found”
I’ve installed the android development tools, etc, but I’m stuck here now. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
I have a Nexus7 2012 32g Wifi version tablet. The bootloader is locked and I have TWRP 2.7.1.1 on it. I can’t remember if USB debugging is on or off. It no longer boots into Android as there is no more Android on the tablet it was wiped off accidently. Hooking into computer does nothing as computer doesn’t recognize the device even after proper drivers were installed in Window 7. It only boots into recovery (TWRP) or it stays on the Google boot screen forever and stays there. I have an OTG USB cable and tried installing Lollipop or KitKat that way through USB flash drive but no way it doesn’t recognize flash drive. I’ve been using Android Unified Toolkit for two years but can’t get it to work any longer with my N7 2012 32G Wifi……Help!
